This practice makes perfect sense to some readers (myself included), while others are appalled at the idea of starting a book anywhere but the beginning. What sort of reader are you? When you begin a new book, what part do you read first? The book jacket? The introduction? The conclusion? Or do you just flip to some random page in the middle?
