Just thinking about all the precious friends I’ve met within the pages of the books I’ve read makes me want to go back and visit them again… and to introduce them to my children.
Some of my dearest friends from childhood were Laura Ingalls Wilder, Fern Arable, Josephine March, and Karana (as introduced to me by Scott O’Dell in THE ISLAND OF THE BLUE DOLPHINS). Who were yours? Wouldn’t Library Lovers’ Month be a great time to get reacquainted?
